SEMINAR
Speaker: Mr. Arun Kumar Patel
Title:
Cryo-Electron Microscope- A new era of resolution
Date & Time: Thursday 9th November, 2017 at 4.00 PM

Venue: SSCU AUDITORIUM
Abstract:
Molecules which form the basis of functions in a living cell can now be imaged with unprecedented clarity. This dream became reality with the involvement of many innovations of instrumentation, a smart approach of sample preparation, and computer processing methods in Cryo-Electron Microscope, for which this year’s Nobel Prize in Chemistry has been awarded to this work. In this seminar, I shall discuss about the various challenges and milestones leading to get high resolved images of biomolecules through this methodology. This new technique can be used to get highly resolved structural details of biomolecules.
